Not only do these electric clutches offer an extreme positive engagement they also provide overload protection for power transmission equipment. (Fully adjustable) The totally enclosed construction allows for usage in wet or humid conditions. The limit switch located on the torque limiter senses the onset of an overload condition and disengages the drive. As soon as the cause is corrected the clutch will automatically re-engage.
Extremely heavy duty built for industry but have multiple uses on any rotating shaft / machinery that requires a way to disengage the drive unit during something becoming trapped, bearing locking up etc. Horton is the # 1 maker of pneumatic clutches on the market. there is NO better name available today.
You may also want to visit their web site for specific specs etc. applicable to this unit. (Min- max torque etc.) We used this same style units on printing presses with 100 HP motors!! They had no problem running them. When the paper would jam up in the rollers the clutch would trip, the light from the sensor would tell you clutch disengaged and we'd clean out the jam. Afterwards when the shaft turns the cluch automatically re-engages.
