This unit was part of a complete cable manufactuing line and is being offered as a stand alone pinhole tester. The tester is a quality control item which provides a final function test to cable insulation. This unit utilizes current limited hi-pot (spark tester) device to sense electrical breakdown through any flaws in the cable. The sensing elements are conforming rollers that bear on the cable, positioned as to provide the same sensitivity to all surfaces of the cable. This machine was inline in a complete cable wrapping line, to use it by istelf a simple rewire would be neccessary . As seen below in the pictures, we powered up the unit and it produces a purple spark and when pulling a cable through the rollers it detects a nick in the cable.
