The 3-15 watts PKF series is a family of true component level on-board power modules with 18-36, 36-75 or 18-75 V dc (max 75 V dc) input voltage and 1,500 V dc isolation. Utilization of thick-film technology and a high degree of silicon integration has made it possible to achieve the high MTTF values. The high reliability and very low height of these board mounted DC/DC converters make them particularly suited for Telecom and Datacom applications, with board spacing down to 15 mm or 0.6 inch. With a thermal design optimized for free convection cooling, these power modules are ideal as distributed power sources in decentralized power systems. The PKF series is designed to meet an operational ambient temperature range in compliance with present and future application needs, including environments without temperature control. The mechanical design offers the choice of through-hole or surface mount technology, delivered in trays, tubes or tape-and-reel packages.
The PKF series products are lead-free and comply with the requirements in the European RoHS directive 2002/95/EC, but the heat resistance of the moulded package do not comply with lead-free reflow soldering processes temperature profiles according to IPC/JEDEC J STD 020C.
