The 950RTS Remote Test System is designed to meet the needs of all applications associated with testing network switching, T-1 facilities, E-1 facilities, and echo cancelers.
The system uses a 32-bit SCO UNIX® operating system providing capabilities for multi-user, multi-tasking operation. The basic system allows two users to access the system simultaneously and can be expanded to 16 users. (Contact Sage Instruments for informa-tion regarding systems that require more than 16 users.) With the right options, a single 950RTS can support up to 32 simultaneous DS-0 test sessions.
The 950RTS runs an easy-to-use, menu-based environment. Users can testing locally or remotely via serial I/O, modem, or LAN interfaces. The system is password, logon protected, and provides three levels of security.

923LTS Handheld Local Loop Test Set
ALTS (Automated Loop Test System) adds the capability to the 950RTS to test metallic or wireless local loops. The 950RTS with the ALTS option (950RTS-607) uses the 923LTS handheld unit as a field test unit to quickly profile the transmission performance and service provisioning of local loops. ALTS software running on the 950RTS consists of two components: the measurement software and the database server software. Loop test results are automatically stored in the 950RTS database server. Users can access the results via the LAN interface using built-in database utilities, SQL commands, or an SQL database client.
CDR2000 Cellular Diagnostic Responder
Cellular Diagnostic System (CDiS) adds powerful cellular testing capabilities to the 950RTS. CDiS is designed to automatically test an entire wireless infrastructure, end-to-end, in both directions. The system consists of the 950RTS as the application server, ACTS (Automated Cellular Test Software), and the CDR2000 Cellular Diagnostic Responder. ACTS includes a database and an easy-to-use interface so users can easily set up and execute tests, define automated test routines, filter test results, and generate reports.
• Voice Frequency Test Suite—enables the 950RTS to perform a variety of IEEE-743 voice frequency measurements.
• Automated Trunk Routining —enables the 950RTS to set up test routines and perform scheduled 105 voice transmission tests.
• DS-0 BER Test Suite—enables the 950RTS to perform DS-0, switched 56/64 Kbps, and DDS BER tests, and supports all standard test and loop back patterns.
• DS-1 BER Test Suite—enables the 950RTS to perform DS-1 tests and supports all standard test and loop back patterns.
• ATME—enables the 950RTS to perform echo canceler testing and characterization.
Options, which you can purchase, enhance the features and testing capabilities of the 950RTS. Options provide the major extended test functions listed below.
