this is a good working linear type power supply for electronics and machine cntrol uses. The linear type supplies are transformer powered units and can tolerate momentary overloading. Unlike switching supplies that cannot power a motor that is starting or overloaded at times. also there is no high frequency switching ripple that interferes with motion control amplifiers in some cases. This is a cased unit and will connect to a 120 volt ac supply line. possible that internal are taps to connect to 240 volt use. We also have similar ones in our store for 5 volt supply and linear acopian. we have changed this item as local sale has taken the 20 amp units. these are 12 amp capable. actual as in pix model " a24h1200"
